Living Roofs

What is a Green roof?

Green roofs are often referred to as Living Roofs and is a vegetation layer covering the roof area of a building, or structure. It will consist of a number of layers that form the green roof system in which selected plant varieties will naturally grow.

It should ideally be installed using sustainable planting systems which minimises the burden on the environment, e.g. recycled aggregates.
