About Greenlink Green Roofs
After 30 years in the New Zealand horticultural industry, Gerard Dyer and Greenlink Solutions Ltd have made a point of being at the forefront of local and international trends and technology.
One of those new trends that is now becoming the talking point in
New Zealand horticulture, planning and design scene, is Green Roofs.
Green Roofs do have a history here in New Zealand but most likely without people realising that they do exist in one form or other. Throughout some city skylines and rural dwellings in New Zealand, on top of buildings can be seen
Intensive planted recreational garden areas. In other areas of the country, plants, climbers, mosses, ferns etc have adapted themselves in establishing growth and coverage on top of a roof surface. These can all be classified as greenroofs in one way or another.
After initial research and seeing the potential here in New Zealand, we have made several trips to study
Extensive green roofs in Europe and the UK and to work closely with established growers of the
Nutrifoam® green roof mat system. This is a lightweight portable mat system in which are growing established Sedum plant varieties ready to create an instant green roof.
The Greenlink Flora-Mat System is new to New Zealand and now available through Greenlink Green Roofs.
Over the last five years we have continued researching and trialling this European system to New Zealand growing conditions. These results and the speed of establishment of the Sedum / Succulent plant varieties into the Flora-Mat has exceeded our expectations. We have also proven and adapted the growing of a range of New Zealand native plants, exotics and grasses.
Our nursery is now producing fully established Flora-Mats for both the commercial and residential markets. Results so far from initial installations of this lightweight greenroof
Flora-Mat System have been extremely successful.
Greenlink Solutions are passionate about the future of not only the Greenlink Flora-Mat System but of working closely within the greenroof industry in New Zealand. We can show you how easy it is to construct or transfer a new or existing roof top area into a planted flowering carpet. This will not only return benefits back to you, the building owner, but enhance the environment we live in for the years ahead.
